Tax

Chambers’ main tax expertise is in the areas of indirect tax litigation, fraud claims, and tax work with a public law element. Some members also have experience of direct tax, taxation of trusts and international tax work. Some have also conducted work relating to personal actions against directors (typically by way of breach of fiduciary duty claims or penalties) arising out of assessments to tax.

As well as offering specialist advice in these fields of taxation, Chambers provides an experienced and robust advocacy service, well adapted to these types of tax litigation. Members regularly appear in the First Tier Tribunal, the Upper Tier Tribunal, the High Court and Court of Appeal.

Members advise and represent both the Commissioners for Revenue and Customs and taxpayers. Chambers is represented on all three of the Attorney General’s Panels of Counsel.
