Paul Marshall

Paul Marshall is an advocate recommended by the Legal 500 as a leading commercial junior. He has broad experience of domestic and international commercial litigation of all kinds including insurance, commercial licensing and leasing including aircraft leasing, EU and domestic competition law, commercial credit and civil fraud. He has made a special study of international aspects of the anti-money laundering and related legislation on which he has advised leading international law firms and banks and also contributed extensively to the national and academic press. He also undertakes a range of contentious Chancery work including insolvency, directors’ duties, company sales, shareholder remedies and partnership.
He undertakes overseas work and has advised and acted for Commonwealth governments.
Recent instructions have included: acting for international airline in connection with claims under commercial aircraft leases; interim injunction proceedings for breach of confidence in sponsorship of an international sporting event; acting for non-Convention claimant in claims including injunction for recovery of a private jet aircraft from the Seychelles; advising a leading US law firm on LPP issues; advising leading US investment bank on money laundering legislation; advising Middle East bank on FSA OFT regulatory/licensing issues; advising UK distributor on EU competition issues in establishing an overseas niche product market; advising a leading computer manufacturer in connection with outsourcing of part of its UK operation.
Paul served as an Army officer for 10 years until 1988, before becoming a barrister.
